The Uniform Lady

Ge Mei Zhen is a strong woman, with good morals and a very tight-knit family of eight brothers and sisters. Mei Zhen is a dedicated worker, a happy soul, with a good heart and always ready with a smile.

Among her eight brothers and sisters, and she is the youngest of the family. She does not have any favorite siblings, as all of them are good to her, and because they’re all quite close, she feels no need to have a favorite. Despite the fact that all her family members never went far away from their home, she has always enjoyed Chinese New Year, because that’s when everybody can have some really delicious delicacies, and the house is always filled with laughter. She grew up in Suzhou with all her family members, therefore having her family’s support throughout her life. She is rather glad that her family members stayed in Suzhou all this time, so she and her parents don’t need to be worried about their lifestyles and their welfare.

She enjoys her time at SSIS, and thinks that her working hours here are reasonable and quite relaxing. She does her job well and has made many friends at school. She claims to have no best friend, saying that she has loads of good friends here in SSIS. Working in SSIS is really fun for her, and she enjoys her work and friends here. She had a really good friend, Yuan Chiu-Ting, who unfortunately left the school. Even though Chiu-Ting has left, Mei Zhen still maintains good and strong friendships with her other colleagues.

If she could, she would like to go to Australia, because she has a very good friend there. Every year, her friend calls her and talks about her welfare in China. She misses her friend a lot, and hopes to go and visit her when she has the chance. She does not think that the distance for her and her friend could affect their strong friendship. She believes that one day she will be able to go to Australia and visit her.

After interviewing Ge Mei Zhen, we have learned a lot more in this interview than most people know about her. Most of us might not realize it, but the workers here in SSIS are just like us, with the same dreams and feelings. Ge Mei Zhen likes to keep strong friendships with her friends, and so do we! She is a very loving and caring woman, towards her family and friends. Maybe the next time you pass by the uniform shop, give Mei Zhen a polite nod, or a polite ‘Hi’ and a smile. That could really make her day! We all could use an extra smile in our lives.
